The Toyota T100 was first introduced in 1993 as Toyota's first full-size pickup truck for the North American market. The 1996 T100 was available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, with either a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.4-liter V6 engine. The 2.7-liter engine produced 150 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, while the more powerful 3.4-liter V6 engine produced 190 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The T100 had a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.
The 1996 T100 had a spacious interior with comfortable front seats, but the rear seat was cramped and not very comfortable for adult passengers. Some of the standard features included air conditioning, a cassette player, power steering, and power brakes. Optional features included power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt steering wheel, and a CD player.
The T100 was known for its reliability, durability, and off-road capabilities. It featured a sturdy frame, a solid rear axle, and a four-link coil-spring suspension system that provided good ride comfort and handling. The T100's high ground clearance, low range gearing, and lockable rear differential made it a capable off-road vehicle.
Today, the 1996 T100 is considered a classic truck and is sought after by those who appreciate its ruggedness, reliability, and Toyota build quality.
